We explored some (INSERT COPY) Cape Nature’s
Roaming the dunes, hiking the reserve & spotting the birdlife as we went along!
Located 25 kilometers north of Velddrif on the Cape West Coast, the accommodation at Rocherpan overlooks a large natural pan and makes a brilliant weekend escape for nature lovers. Birders, in particular, will love the array of waterfowl and we were quite content to spend mornings glued to our binoculars in the well-located hides. In total, 183 species of birds have been recorded in the reserve.
Aside from birding, visitors to the reserve have access to miles of beach – part of a marine protected area that extends 500 meters out to sea along the length of the reserve – and you’d be missing out if you didn’t pack a picnic and head out for a long meander across the sand. https://www.capenature.co.za/reserves

KOGELBERG NATURE RESERVE
Kogelberg Nature Reserve, Cape Town, South Africa
Take a sneak peak of what it is like to stay at Cape Nature's Kogelberg Nature Reserve!
We stayed in one of the Mbali Collection eco cabins! Modern & sophisticated
Considered by many to be the most beautiful of Cape Nature’s protected areas, Kogelberg Nature Reserve earns that reputation largely to the fact that it occupies an area with minimal human interference. Its exceptional diversity and quality of fynbos means it is considered the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom. The reserve presents perhaps the finest example of mountain fynbos in the Western Cape and is a world-renowned World Heritage Site.
